XRF Inspections
XRF Inspections are surface by surface inspections of every distinct component with the SciAps X-550 Pb analyzer to determine the presence of lead-based paint. They are generally for renovation or demolition projects to understand potential lead dust risks and lead abatement needs.
Prices for residential XRF inspections start at $300 for a single floor; each addition floor is $100. Readings on the exterior of the property may incur additional fees.
Inspections include:
- Lead inspection report highlighting components with lead-based paint
- Spreadsheet of all XRF readings
- Results within 3 days or less.
Lead Dust Inspection
Primarily for rental properties, this inspection entails a visual check to ensure all paint in the unit is intact, and at least one dust sample per room from the floor, window sill, or window well to determine the presence of any lead dust.
Lead dust inspections start at $295 for up to 15 samples, which should cover most one-bedroom units. The inspection fee includes:
- Visual assessment
- Up to 15 dust samples (additional samples $18/wipe)
- Lab results
- Lead report or certificate to owner/manager
- Results within 3-5 days (quicker turnaround is possible but requires additional lab fees)
Soil Samples
If you’re looking to receive a “lead-free” certificate for the exterior of your property, or a parent concerned about lead contamination around your property, you can have the soil tested. Analysis of soil samples is used to determine how much lead is in the top level of the soil. Soil is collected from bare soil (soil not covered by grass, mulch, concrete, etc). Key testing areas are around the dripline/foundation area and any play areas.
Soil sampling fees start at $200 for up to 10 samples; each additional sample required is $20.
Household Items
